I have always been partial to the impressionist and post impressionists with Van Gogh, Renoir, Monet and Toulouse-Lautrec among countless favorites. Toulouse-Lautrec's style looks modern even now.
The art of Stephen Charles Shortridge, a self-proclaimed "Romantic Impressionist". I think that is an apt description of his beautiful interpretations which I find glorious.
In his own words: "Romantic Impressionism is what I do. . . I think the term best expresses how and why I paint. Impressionism has an immediate expressive quality to it. Rather than attempt to tell you something accurately, it makes you feel it! That's why I set out to interpret life through this style of art; it invites the viewers' emotions to take part."
